Brake Light Out
Options
Yesterday I noticed one of my brake lights was out. Today I bought a new bulb, fitted it and everything was fine.
An hour later I noticed the light was again not working - however this time the bulb hadn't blown and I can only assume that there is a fault with the connector (I established this my swapping the left/right hand side bulbs and it was apparent it was the socket and not the bulb)
I'm therefore wondering if I clean the connection would it solve the problem - if so anyone any suggestions what to clean it with (WD40?).
It did cross my mind that a fuse may have gone, but as the light is working on the otherside I assume not. Also all the other bulbs in the cluster - reversing light, indicator etc are fine.
Anyone any suggestions before I have an expensive trip to the garage?

WD40 is a good idea.0

It's generally the bulb holders - condensation, rust, loose connections. WD40 and wiggle it all around.Happy chappy0

try bending the contact points in the holder out a bit so the bulb feels a lot tighter when being fitted. over time and various bulb changes they bend out of shape....work permit granted!0
