Unhappy with Vodafone (subscription problem) - advice needed.

(reposted - I think I put the original in the wrong sub-forum)
I checked my Vodafone account online last week, it turns out that since December 2006 I have been paying £5 monthly for a 'Sky News, Sport & Factual Pack'.
I am certain that I cancelled this subscription very early on as it had a free trial period and would have a recurring cost, in fact I cancelled Vodafone's (initially free) phone insurance policy for the same reason and during the same call to customer services.
My fault for not spotting this a lot sooner, but I've never had a reason to check managed subscriptions - at least not until now..
So, do I take this loss on the chin and put it down to experience, or can I escalate this with Vodafone - and if so, how?

If you're confident you cancelled it then contact them, I'd expect they keep recordings of calls for a certain period of time, there's probably either a legal requirement or some industry guideline about how long for and I'm not sure how long that would be, but it may be they have a recording of the call. If you have cancelled and they've not stopped taking money for it then presumably the fact you ahven't spotted the extra £5 going out monthly shouldn't matter, they've been taking it for a service you haven't agreed to.Bought, not Brought0

If they recorded it's the same as any other data and it's 6 years minimum - the most they can charge you to provide it is £10 - so worth a shot.0
