Bank Error ruined my credit file!!! HELP

If your not already a member of creditexpert or similar i would suggest signing up straight away so you can take a good look at your credit file.

You will then be able to phone them up and explain what has happend. They will add the notice of correction to your file, they will also send a letter to Barclaycard and any company that had requested details from your credit file in the last six months outlining the correction.

I would also look at taking barclaycard to court for the monies that you have lost out on. It's up to you wether you wait for the OFT.

To be honest, you need to speak to the information commissioner as they have the powers to force barclaycard to change the credit file.

I had a similar situation in which a bank refused (after several attempts) to rectify my credit file. A call to barclays from the IC and it was all sorted within a week or so.
