Food Mixer - Recommendations

I need to get a food mixer to process soup and humous etc.
Hoping to get one with a lid, that is quite small and easy to clean.
Any recommendations on some particularly efficient models?
I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!
Money to raise for tuition fees: £3000
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!!

If that's all you want to do then you should be OK with a stick blender. Curry's do a nice one for £4.99

I've got one of the hand blender thingys but I found that the soup splashes everywhere (there is no lid for the one I have) and the container your supposed to use to blend it in is way too small for soup - hmm...

  • You don't need to use the cup that comes with the stick blender, you can blend it straight in the pan/slow cooker or whatever - less washing up! :)

Then you're a messy so and so :p;):)

If you wander back to the Currys site and do a search on "blenders" you could pick one of their upright ones. Or from Argos.

Once your soup is whizzed and poured back into the pan just fill up the jug with water and whizz it again to help get all the goo off the blades. Makes them much easier to clean.

    Hi Eliza,

You may get more replies on the I wanna board, so I hope that you don't mind if I move your thread over there.

I got the magic bullet from one of the shopping channels but I know you can get cheaper versions. I love it to bits. It's great for soup as you just whizz it - put the beaker in the microwave and then it's ready - less washing up. The thing I like about it particularly is that if anything gets stuck in blades you just take the whole thing off and shake it - no sticking stuff under blades to get stuff out. And then to wash it I just stick some hot water in it and whizz it again. The only thing is it's a little small.
