Tesco Credit Card Charge For Going Over Limit

Tesco CREDIT CARD have applied a charge of £12 for allowing me to go over limit, i had no idea i had and that credit cards allow you to do so and i had no idea that they would charge until i got my statement (although i did receive a letter and paid the over limit back straight away, this was not a large amount by any means!!!). In the past i have always found that if you unknowingly go over the card automatically does not allow payment! I am disgusted and very angry IS THIS LEGAL, CAN BANKING OMBUDSMAN HELP, DOES ANYONE KNOW?

i trust you keep a log of what you have spent (receipts, online spen etc), to check against statements.. when you got the card, your limit is usually clearly stated - gp over that and the card co are quite wuthin their rights to stop any further spend until balance brought back below.. the charges however are another thing!

My reply is a play on words; instead of I'll be frank with you, I'll be MABLE with you :

"No. Stupid. Your Fault. Ombudsman will laugh."

But that's just what MABLE would say.

My own answer is BAH ! Join the flock. :wall: :wall: :wall:
