Existing Customers Barclaycard Offers?

Hi I am looking to maybe buy a new card and I am looking maybe to put around £4000-£5000 on my barclycard.

Is there any offers around at the moment for exisiting customers to get? Say 0% apr for at least 12 months, so I have time to pay it off without any extra chargers. As I could see this being better than taking an loan out.

Any help or other advice would be grateful

The best help is to phone BC and they will tell you what offers are applicable to you. They vary from customer to customer.
  • Just ring the normal barclaycard number then?

As an existing Barclaycard customer, I doubt whether you would be offered 0% on purchases for more than 6 or 7 months at best.

Btw, if you ring Barclaycard Card Services on 01604 234234, you'll avoid the dreaded 0870 numbers ;)

I called them up about this last week - they offered me the usual long term deal with a 0% fee. or 0% until Dec with a 3% fee.

Do you have other credit cards besides Barclaycard at the mo? If so, which ones?

I would give LloydsTSB a call as well, in that case.

Have you considered applying for a balance transfer card?
To maximise the 0% period, 15 months is currently available to new customers from Virgin. There's a 2.98% handling charge. Alternatively, you'd get around 14 months with Egg. A 3% BT fee applies.

We had an offer through from Barclaycard last week - cheques. One for 6.9% life of balance and the other for 1.5% until December 08. Both had 2.5% fees on if I remember rightly.
