Where to save whilst working and living abroad.

I have some savings in the UK but the account is not paying the best interest rate.
I am currently living and working abroad but don't want to transfer the money here as I will be returning. Whenever I apply for the best accounts I get told they are only open to UK residents. Is there anything I can do or am I stuck leaving my money in a low interest account.

You are not stuck with low interest accounts in the UK.
You should open an offshore account with one of the high streets banks or BS. As an example A&L IOM have some good accounts with competitive IR's http://www.alil.co.im/
You can do a search on moneysupermarket.com for offshore accounts. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0
