Statement Of Earnings - Not a P60?

HI All,
I'm currently in the process of getting my pension tax relief sorted. HMRC asked for my P45s and P60s from the last 2 years which I sent.
They are now asking for me to get a Statement of Earnings from my employer. Isn't that the same as my P60? Not heard of one before.
Cheers

I would suspect that they would like you to complete form L17

p45's and P60's only show historical earnings and thus what you earn now might be different (and have a knock on effect on your pension relief). All you need to do is ask your employer to fill this out and stamp/sign it as from them.
I hope this help you.

Cheers for the form. I'll take it to HR.0 -
When HMRC refer to a statement of earnings they mean a letter from the employer in place of a P60. They only ask for them when you have lost or never got a P60.0

Der - I read the letter wrong the other day. They need a statement of earnings from an agency I worked through for 3 months. I can't fund my P45 (although I can't remember getting one).
I emailed the agancy asking for a statement of earnings but they just emailed back some figures. Does this have to be an official form, or can I just send HMRC this email?
HMRC website doesn't seem to be any help when searching for statment of earnings.0 -
I need the same answer mr_fishbulb. Can anyone help?
i worked form some promotional agencies in tax year 2006/07. Im applying for a rebate for this year and 2 agencies never bothered to send me a P60 despite me being taxed on their payslips.
Is this not a legal requirement? Will they be able to send me one out since they never sent one in the first place, or can/will they provide a statement of earnings?
Thanks!0 -
You only get a P60 if you were in that employmetn at 5 April. Otherwise you have to get a P45 when you leave. If you have lost your P45, you need to write to the employers and ask for a letter setting out your pay and tax whilst with them.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

HMRC will accept the email
That is news to me, I always understood that a statement of earnings must be on official paperwork from the company. And as an email is so easy to forge, for the same reason that is why they don't accept payslips.
When did they change the rules about accepting an email from the company ? (presumably you still have to send in the printed email via the post, they wouldn't accept a forwarded one to their address.?)He's not an accountant - he's a charlatan0 -

Sorry in a bit of a rush last night so didn't elaborate.
Assuming the figures are on an attachment which is a screen print off the employers computer system the email will have to be printed off and sent to HMRC in the post as there is currently no facility set up for HMRC to be emailed itself. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
