They could do that I know barclays did with an e-savings account I had with them, they took money from that to pay the current account debt (called off setting) you really need to speak to your payroll & either organise a cheque as a one off or see if you can use a relative/freinds account as a temp measureWe all die. Phil..i'm stretching my already over stretched memory here, but i'm fairly certain they gave me all the info i needed that same day, once they'd seen the ID etc. I still had to wait for the card etc, but i'm sure they allowed me to use the account straight away.

They may do...some branches are asking for a little longer though due to increased workload & new fraud checks in place
