Hence my suggestion of £20sqm budgetDoozergirl wrote: »I'm interested to know where you have found as I can't find anything properly nice for less than £20 either (except a rather large amount of black marble mosaic that I've secured for about £10 a metre on ebay - haven't seen it yet!)
. You can get tiles less than £20sqm easily enough but then the "nice bit" gets left out or they are just plain boring glossy white and look like something from a public toilet! With ebay you've got that risk that they'll turn up broken, chipped or different batches. Hope yours turn out ok Doozergirl! I always make a point of checking every box has the same batch number and if they aren't sealed checking there's the right number of tiles in each box and no broken ones. Gets you some strange looks when your sat in the middle of the tile aisle in Homebase sorting through every box though!!

You might not get a full range, but like I say, with a bit of imgination, or mixing the cheap with a bit of classy expensive you can come up with some pretty nice designs.

I haven't found one of those places admittedly but I am allergic to 6 inch tiles! My attempts at mixing cheap with classy involves mixing £15 a metre tiles with £60 a metre tiles, LOL!
Is it me or are most tiles horrid?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Luckily it will be cash on collection so they'll be getting short shrift if they're rubbish! Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Yeah I hate 6inch tiles too...
but they were good enough for the student-let bathrooms and with the addition of a few trick-shot ways of sticking them, they looked well cool (diagonal rows etc etc)
It's also amazing what you can do with plain white cheapos and few slabs of pricey glass mosaics
I have to admit it's quite a challenge now to get tiles at a reasonable price. Todays look seem to be the nutural stone or slate, like posh hotel bathrooms.
We've got travertine all over the place, mainly because again we picked these up cheap from a supplier who dropped a couple of pallet loads off a forklift and couldn't be bothered to sort out the good ones from the chipped.

I got mine from www.mosaictraderuk.co.uk I've got a brownish colour mix halfway up the wall all round the bathroom, then a band of single red mosaic, then cream mosaic up to the ceiling.. with a red blind and red accessories and towels it looks fab0
