Hi Wol
Fab news about the hand, - here's an exercise for your finger - get yourself a genteel teacup you know the sort where they have a small hole for your fingers and as a result you have to hang on for dear life and stick your pinky out :rotfl: Keep doing that I am sure that your finger will be fixed in no time.
Glad that the house is coming together slowly - try freecycle for free stuff, its amazing what folks want to get rid of - from pets to bags of prawn cocktail crisps:eek:
Hope the guinea pigs are ok and that they havent acquired any pets. Don't laugh my mate keeps her pet rabbit in a posh run outside and when she went to clean its home a little mouse popped out so I said that it was the pet's pet:rotfl:
Ciao

Brilliant piglet...and numpty. Both of your piccied make me laugh no end. Good news about piano playing Wol..now if i can scrape a tune out of my manky old violin............nope not even a good hand could do that!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

Well my goodness!!
What a complete turnaround from yesterday weather wise. Poor old Wol gets woken up by massive humungous thunderstorm over Eastbourne/Brighton at 7am and thinks....OK peeps...this is it..adrenaline is by now doing massive overtime.......time to test out flood defences
.
BUT....not much rain at all....(of the monsoon variety I mean!!)...so stream was perfectly well behaved all day! Wish I could have said the same about my fridge   (you know, the one where the door can't open properly and the "fridge man" is coming tomorrow to reverse the door)
Well yesterday (without my noticing) it decided to FREEZE all my contents...all my veggies for guineas and me are absolutely rock solid!!
Hahh...I am DFW....so 3 hours of cooking veggie stews and soups later, I then realise I do not currently have any freezer space :rotfl: :rotfl:
(Owing to fact that my outside building has not yet been rebuilt to accommodate said freezer)
Oh well, will do what I can over next few days (ie eat as much as poss and then freeze rest in some poor unsuspecting neighbour's !!!)
Good news...I have reclaimed a room!! :T :T
My study is now almost functional..(just needs curtains hanging...might try that tonight if feel steady enough on my pins!!) ) .that makes four rooms functional in total...the guest bedroom, the downstairs cloakroom, the upstairs bathroom and now the study.
My bedroom and the kitchen are nearly there......maybe next week
Hand is very very sore after day in garden yesterday (lawns, and ripped out load of bindweed and lifted out cherished plants into pots to save them from new builders tramping all over them)
Hope you;ve had a good weekend peeps.
Wol is still pacing herself (edit: and still can't type proper!!) so not logging on too much...but still in contact with various DFW peeps and will be back in September..promise!! (Deffo going to Leeds meet next weekend so will report back on all the goss:D )
Thanks all for posting..even though I'm a bit AWOl ATM. Still means a lot and really helps as have been finding it very very difficult to adjust to all of this. I know it sounds stupid, I should be glad to be back in my own home....and perhaps that's what makes it worse because actually....I'm NOT (shock horror!!!) .....Clearly my brain/emotions are not behaving in the way they are expected/supposed to? Does that make any sense?
Or maybe it's just that I now realise that moving back did not mean everything would go back to normal overnight...and in fact it will be another 6-9 months before I can feel like I have "re-discovered" anything like my old life and got back the functionality (well the bits that I wanted to keep anyway!! :rotfl: )
Ho Hum....Eyeore rules OK!!
Hugs to all
Wol2
