Commuting from Chatham to London

Options
I need advise on how to save money on travel cards. At the moment the travel cards cost £263.10. Also to include a monthly travel card within chatham costs £43.00. I desperately need to cut costs on my travel. Any ideas?

Buy it in 5-week blocks rather than 1 calendar month.

e.g. if I was buying a season ticket to start tomorrow (16th June), I would buy it for 1 month and 3 days (expiring 18 June). It doesn't cost much extra to do that and you save money by not having a season ticket every 5th weekend.

    Alternatively get an annual season.

    Doesn't save money though.

A 4 week season for Kings Ferry is £240, this is £60/week

A 5 week season for the trains is approx £290, this is approx £59/week

The 0636 bus from Chatham station gets to Victoria at 0831. Meanwhile you could have had a lie in and got the 0720 train and got to Victoria at 0811. (Example only - Other London destinations available on both routes)

Also there is no service on weekends. But on the train your season ticket is valid for a trip to London on the weekend.

No wonder the two short buses that do the route have so few passengers that they can always "guarantee" anyone a seat, yet the trains are 8-10 coaches long and operate every few minutes. It's a no-brainer!

The kings ferry is not an option but it's a much longer trip. I was considering splitting the tickets ( London to Bromley South) and Bromley South to Chatham but it did not work out cheaper
