Hi guys,
I am £800 overdrawn in my personal account and I dont want to be any longer. I am spending way to much on a daily basis so I need to cut back. I am taking £50 out of the bank on a friday and I am going to make it last me all week. Any I have left over will go into a pot for weeks when I am struggling! I get £300 a month into my personal account so I have no excuses I just need to cut back but i find it impossible not to shop!!
I am going to write down everything I spend here as I think it might shock me into spending much less.
Friday. Money out - £50
Magazine - £3.20
LEFT - £46.80
Saturday.
Mecca Bingo - £20
Cafe nero - £3.70
LEFT - £23.10
Sunday.
Water and crisps before race for life - £2
Tip in restaurant (hubby treated me as i ran race for life today) - £3
LEFT - £18.10

Good Luck
You know you can do it!! And writting things down sure does make everything seem more 'real'

Sometimes I swear it melts away out of my purse and I dont know how.0 -
:T Well done on getting organised.
However, did you really need that £2.70 coffee and the £3.20 magazine...?
(Sorry to put a dampener on things...)Please continue to hold the line. Your call is very important to us and will be answered by next available robot...0 -
No I didn't i guess that's the point of writing it down. I think I will write it down for a week then review where I can make changes. I can already see some things that will go like you say but there may be other savings I can make.0

you did well.
but, like you have realised you spent nearly £7.00 on coffee and a magazine. if you have to buy can you get a cheaper/on offer mag or go to a local place for coffee or even macdonalds.
re. bingo - is that for a whole 6 strip set of tickets? if so, could you get less to reduce the cost when you do go?
do you have a goal of something to save for after paying off your overdraft?
good luck with week 2 x0 -
Thank you :-)
I dont have a gola of anything to save for I jsut want to clear my overdraft because when I go back to work i am only going back part time so my personal spendo of £300 will be decreasing to £250 or even £200. So if I can live off £50 a week and pay overdraft off with the rest then I *should* be fine.
I think I have a problem with spending because this week has been very difficult. I love to shop and buy things I do not need on a weekly basis.
Need to stop and look at things and think 'do I need that' and the other thing i need to watch is putting things on my card out of other budgets which I have been known to do in the past.
Am going out tonight which is going to make a MASSIVE dent in my £50 so this week is going to be a HUGE challenge!0
