Anybody knows a good places to buy a pair of cheap and sturdy garden gloves, the kind thick enough to use to uproot nettles and thistles? I remember some time ago they were available in Poundland. Do they still have them?? Thanks.

Try builders' merchants. They have really sturdy leather ones which will be ideal for your purpose.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0

I went to a Poundland today and bought two pairs. The gloves are imported by a company called 'Gardencentre' in Birmingham. They seem pretty good value for £1 a pair. Now I don't have any more excuses for postponing the garden work. "Ho, ho, ho, ho, off to work I go!"0

Yep, I got some in Poundland last week. 2 pairs for £1.
To replace some tesco ones which I'd lost, that cost 25p or something silly in one of their sales. Which have now turned up, of course!0
