Especially in winter in the front room it feels cold. I have a large front room with laminate. My sister has a carpet in hers and when i go over there sometimes her room feels really warm  So without spending out for a carpet in my room, does any of you know how to make it feel warmer?
The same for the kitchen as well. My kitchen is small and still feels cold unless the heating is on and i don't want to put the heating on unless it really needs it..

You could try soft lighting. It always amazes me how cosy a room looks with a couple of low voltage lamps rather than an overhead light! Try it and see if it does the trick, also warm orange and rust coloured prints on the wall in antique pine frames will help create warmth in a room if not going to redecorate.keep smiling,

Warm Orange? Hmm yeah sounds nice. At the moment i have chocolate and cream decor in my room. The lamps need to be on a table though which i havn't got. I was thinking of wall candle holders and have candles lit instead, what do you think?0

Good idea. I use t-light candles in coloured glass holders on the mantlepiece and larger church candles on the grate.
Look out for a second-hand small coffee table, you could disguise it with a tablecloth, then stand a lamp on it. I have laminate flooring in my large living room too, and I know exactly what you mean. I am going to lay carpet in my conservatory though, as I think too much wood effect does look cold.keep smiling,

You could just have a cold house, as mine is. I find most other people's houses much warmer than mine & they don't seem to have to have the heating on constantly like I do. I seem to live in a particulary chilly spot, it's in a bit of a dip that seems to trap the cold winds. My bedroom in particular always feels like an icebox & I use a convector heater to supplement the central heating. I was never as cold as this in my previous house & I didn't have double glazing there. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Do you not fancy a rug - if only a small one in front of the sofa. I have laminate flooring in my large kitchen/dining room and find just having something under my feet makes it seem warmer. Good idea about the candles though, they always seem to make a room feel much warmer.0

If it's cold layer your clothes, have you got a fire in the room? even on low it feels warmer with a red glow.
Have you got gaps under the door for instance where draughts can get in? draught excluders are easy to make from old clothes, paper or whatever you can find.
Take care with candles, I know somone who managed to burn their house down with one unattended candle and a sudden gust of wind......0
