Rendering

I'm just about to build an extension. The house is built in imperials and has been painted. I've costed out the bricks and the blocks and am trying to decide on the cheapest way to do it. If its bricks, I have to use imperial and then these will be painted. If its in blocks, I would have to have it rendered.
Does anyone know what they generally charge for rendering, perhaps per square metre?
Cheers
