followed by a drive up the entire East coast before heading back to Perth for the flight home.
There are international flights from Brisbane, so you could fly back from there, unless you need to go Perth first.
Some Singapore Airline's flights have Virgin codes so check Virgin Atlantic's website for their prices.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
All Malaysia Airlines flights purchased and issued tomorrow will go up by £30 per sector in raised Fuel Surcharges. So that would be £120 per flight.
Just a word of warning!0 -
If you want to fly MAN-DXB or MAN-SIN demand is likely to be high so book now, if you want to fly via heathrow hell, there are more options, but the ear-ache if you do that might be unbearable!
One small thing that might affect the prices from Manchester is that there is the Rugby League World Cup being held in Aus during October & November and although hardly life changing the fact that 2000-3000+ GB rugby fans will be migrating around the country for four to five weeks might affect the supply and demand of not only flights but hotels in certain areas on certain dates.0 -
Fantastic info.
Thanks Potaroo.
I'll take a look at Malaysian, and check out the sites in Perth.
Any tips for the rest of Oz ???
Probably going to fly from Perth to Ularu then on to Melbourne, followed by a drive up the entire East coast before heading back to Perth for the flight home.
Thanks
Craig
One point - You would fly to Alice springs to get to Ularu then its about 180 miles (or Kms?) to see the rock. I can't remember if Virgin Blue fly direct from Perth to Alice - think you have to go via Adeliade.
Whilst I like the idea of driving up the whole east coast from melbourne - Thats a long way - we did 10 days campervan from Sydney to Melbourne at an enjoyable pace. There is a lonely planet book which does the route exactly. Even with 4 weeks or so, I think you will be pushed. The reason we have visited so many times has been to see bits in a reasonable time scale. You probably need at least 4 days to see Sydney properly.
Hire cars - try www.rentnewcars.com.au they will do a total no of days hire split between various locations i.e. 10 days rate when 5 days in Sydney and 5 in Perth etc. can save money.
For accomodation - look at Budgetmotelchain. Nothing special but very reasonable prices.
Petrol is/was about 75p ltr this year and wine/beer more expensive than you expect.Politicians are like nappies - they should be changed regularly and for the same reason (Barry Cryer)0 -

Hi there,
For internal flights try jetstar as they are another bugdet airline in Oz. I would book now if you can as it will be cheaper now than in 3 months time. I am flying out to Perth on the 1st of November and went to Austravel, Trailfinders and STA travel for quotes. When I got home I thought I will check out Ebookers, expedia etc just incase I find a better deal before I decide who to book with. I booked with ebookers and ended up saving myself £127 flying with Emirates. I went to Sydney 2 years ago and flew via Dubai and I am so glad I did, yes we arrived early in the morning but I am a people watcher and I have never seen so many different people from so many different countries in my life. Plus the airport itself is one of the cleanest and most spectacular I have ever seen.
Have a great time. Zo.0 -
AFAIK the only airline that serves Alice Springs and Ayers Rock is Qantas.I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are S0466/3973. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. Atol numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority.
