I rent a property out and need building insurance for the property.
Most companies want you to live in the house itself, to give you insurance. Does anyone know of any companies who will insure landlords?

hi there! you may be needing a homeowners insurance..
try visiting this site: netquote.com
this is how it works:
you just plug in your info and the system automatically matches your information to companies with services that most closely meet your insurance needs. Those selected insurance companies process your request and contact you via email, fax, or phone with a quote.0 -
That site is American - does anyone know of any good places in the UK to get cheap buildings only (with public liability) insurance?0

Hi - for anyone who's interested I've found a site with lots of insurance companies that do landlord insurance https://www.landlordzone.co.uk. It doesn't do the search for prices for you but gives you lots of companies to try. I've got a quote from Norwich Union that beats my current insurer by £50 but still haven't finished checking them all.

I have 6 properties which are let out at present, I went through a company called homecall+, they actually use rentguard to underwrite their policy but guess what they come in cheaper for the same quality of cover.
The only downside is you have to call them which as I found was well worth it as they quoted me cheaper than their site did, they have a freephone number which is 0800 1952033.
good luck with the bargain hunt
