Paprika, just wanted to send you hugs, my Mother was diagnosed with MS in June last year at the age of 59; her consultant believes she probably has had the condition for around 7-8 years. She also has problems with fatigue and has had one relapse since being diagnosed, but is doing well at the moment.

Whan she was first diagnosed she had reguar visits from the Physiontherapist and Occupational Therapist. She was also put in contact with a specialist MS support nurse, you don't sound as though you've had any of this support, but I didn't get the impression she received any "special" treatment, perhaps the MS Society might be able to guide you in the right direction to contatc these people of your GP and consulatnt are being useless?

My Mother has also now got a blue badge, which helps a great deal when she wants to go shopping and also receives some benefits too, not sure which ones exactly, but worth looking into these, as if you are very tired it might help if you need to cut down your hours at work etc.

    Look after yourself hun! :grouphug:

Well i am glad i went to the gp, she did some digging around for me, Neurology have messed up completely, the acknowledged that they sent me a letter about organising an appointment for me, but because the consultant is moving to another hospital they forgot about me and i would now have to wait until August to be seen by the new consultant..

I told her it was unacceptable, so she's trying to get me an emergency referral for when the consultant (wait for it) and his secretary get back from holiday...

so i could be seen in a few weeks ( i wont hold my breath)

as for my arm she doesn't think its to do with ms and had me go off for an x-ray because my elbow felt boney!!!

Boney, well duh its my elbow.

My dad was misdiagnosed many years ago, with hay fever. When he goes to the ms group meetings, there are many others who are misdiagnosed or who are told they dont have ms. I guess your gp falls into the misdiagnosis catergory! Is there anyone out there who doesnt have a boney elbow?

Keeping everything crossed for you that you will get seen asap, or as soon as they return from their holidays.
