All I would add is, as soon as you get your new credit card, phone up the provider and ask if you can set up a direct debit from your current account to pay the balance of the card off in full every month.
That way you never have to worry about missing a payment, but of course you do need to make sure that any money you spend on your card, you have in your current account when the DD is taken a month later.
If you're disciplined and never spend more than you actually have, then IMO a credit card is a safer and more convenient way of spending (and if you manage to get a card which gives you cashback, then you get paid for spending!).Don't pay off your student loan quicker than you have to.0 -
