....read https://www.britishcompanies.co.uk/booksforchildren.htm concerning a number of different book clubs run by BCA before I joined one of them. Have just had a bad experience with them albeit, eventually resolved to my satisfaction. Wish I had read all these complaints first (even if some are old).

Even then we still sometimes make mistakes...butterfly )i(0 -
I know it's too late for you this time round, but one thing I always do (except when I forget) is to do a Google search before I do business with a company for the first time. E.g. if the company is called XYZ Ltd. I do a Google search for XYZ PROBLEMS or XYZ COMPLAINTS etc. Often turns up some eye-openers.Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here!

Good idea that, greenwich. The book company have been on the go for years, so I assumed they were a more reputable one than most and went ahead without checking. It certainly pays to be careful. Mind you, as I said, got the matter resolved in the end.butterfly )i(0

Hi all
I read the above with interest. I use 'The Book People' who are based in Bangor. They send me a brochure each month with the latest offerings and I choose some or none. Absolutely no obligation. They do not send out any books it is entirely up to you whether you order or not.
Never had problems to date touch wood.

I recommend 'The Book People' has well. They have some great offers, and you can accrue points to get free books. To save on P+P, my sister and I usually do a combined order.0
