Hi
We had a Ariston Combi boiler fitted about 6 months ago and today it has decided not to heat our water. The central heating still works ok but its as if it doesn't know that we have turned on the hot taps - any one able to help?!
I called the Ariston help centre but they can't help til monday
Thanks so much in advance

Is there a fault code displaying on the LED face and which model do you have? Sounds like the diverter valve.0
-
There is no fault code at all - everything looks normal. Model is Clas HE.
I have no idea what the diverter valve is - is it easy/cheap enough to sort??
Thanks for your help!0 -
We had this problem shortly after moving into our house, central heating worked but no hot water and it was a valve. IIRC it cost about £120 to have fixed but you may be covered under guarantee if your boiler is new.0

Good to know. I think we should be covered under the guarantee but its just annoying that noone can come out til monday.
Does anyone know if it can be fixed just now or is that to dangerous/stupid?0 -
The plumber came out and looked at it and we had to wait for a new valve to be ordered which took a few days, pain without water but I wouldnt try and do anything yourself.0

Hi, It's the divertor valve, and costs about £35 and is very easy to replace I ordered a unit and my son replaced it before I got home.0
