Freeze it. As of the moment you are BR, your accounts are technically frozen.
However, we would all recommend that you open a new account - Co-Op or Natwest have good basic accounts with debit card facilities - no overdraft and both have online banking (a godsend!). I would have all payments transferred to this new account once set up (and it does take a few weeks) and stop using your old one at that point (ignore charges etc as they will be included in BR)
If you tell the official reciever on your BR day that you have done this with a basic bank account, then they are usually not interested in freezing that one as you have to have your day to day living expenses and bills still need to be paid.
You can open Co-Op or Natwest by calling them - get the numbers form online and do it now! Nothing like seizing the moment.0 -
I have been working with them, but I'll get back in touch Mon get this hurried along don't want it hanging over me.....it took me over 2 months to get my DMP started0
 -
Oh right I have already done that set up a basic natwest one and wages go in dd go out...that's it as my other bank account was same one as credit card and loan and they took money out
Things are becomin a little bit clearer now
do you have to have an interview with cccs before you make yourself br?0 -
I honestly don't know. I did everything with Payplan and it was by email or over the phone. CCCS will probably do something similar rather than a face to face meeting with you, along the lines that you have been doing stuff with them now.0

If you telephone the CCCS they will take some rought details from you give you a reference number and a telephone apointment (send a letter confirming this) then it seems you need to prepare your Income and Expenditures, creditors to give to the person on the other end of the phone, and I think they enter it on there system and send you a spreadsheet and recommendations."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

They do have all my details incomings/outcomings/creditors etc as they have set up a DMP with them....so guess i'll just have to let them know that i cannot afford what they have set up for me and go from there0

Yup, and if you have all that it will be easier filling in the Bankcrupty forms. Just do what I did and post them on a new thread and get peoples opinions, as they are been through it they know what you can and cannot have on your banckruptcy forms. All helps make the process smoother come the big day. :T"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

No, the judge might ask if you've taken advice, if he/she does you say yes, some ask who with, you say CCCS.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

And they dont check?
I wouldnt recommend it though, I would speak to the CCCS first even if they dont recommend BC, you can still to it."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

            Hi penny30 and welcome

Just one point - Nastywest won't allow you to keep your account open once you go BR. They are notorious as one of the worst anti-BR banks
Your only options are Co-op or Barclays. Personally, I couldn't recommend the Co-op enough, plus they have online banking and a debit (visa electron) card, whereas Barclays only give you a cash card
Any other questions, please do ask away
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that
