Hi all
In my effort to create more space so that avg would update I deleted something that stops me opening solitaire and spider etc. (all pointless as I had the space... avg just wouldn't play ... anyway no digressing)
My printer hasn't worked for yonks and we have dealt with this by just printing stuff off in work or college or wherever........... too mean to buy another when we are coping. Soooooo during my splurge I deleted everything to do with the printer including anything that was HP... I am now thinking something to do with the imaging looked like a printer thing and I have dumped it... permanently. Or it's one of those dreaded system32 wotsits.
I am not in the least bit savvy when it comes to pcs so any help or sugestions would be appreciated.
It must be something I have deleted today as it was working fine this morning.
Cheers all

System restore? Roll back to an older snapshot. It'll ask you for your windows CD so have that handy. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

omg............ that sounds scarey.... won't I risk losing stuff???
A.. I don't know howso sorry
B.. I'm not sure that if there is a chance of my losing the photos and music etc (of which there is LOADS) it is worth the hassle as it is only a few windows games that I have the problem with ---- if people really want to play they can play online.
Thanks for the suggestion....really.....thank you...
... but I'm a pc woosy and hope an easier and less risky solution will come along.0 -
As with a lot of PC probs if you fear that you may lose photos back them up to a USB Flash Drive ( Under a tenner in Tescos and cheaper on the net ) Music can be replaced,,,, Photos cant
I would suggest that you re-install the printer drivers, restart your PC then remove them via the *Add / Remove Programmes* panel. That may put back any missing dll files.June 28th 2008. The day I escaped :beer:0 -
You haven't mentioned which version of windows you have so this is for Windows XP - other versions may differ slightly.
click START then select CONTROL PANEL then ADD AND REMOVE PROGRAMS
select ADD REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONANTS
Highlight ACCESSORIES AND UTILITIES and then click DETAILS button
Highlight GAMES and then click DETAILS again
Remove the ticks from the boxes of the games that are not working and click OK and Windows will remove any remaining elements of the games.
Insert your Windows CD and repeat the above only ticking the boxes this time to reinstall the games.0 -
) Beat me to it. Spot on

Thank you soooo much.
I've just done it and it was exactly as you said and so darn easy when the instructions are given so clearly..... wow... I am sooooo grateful
Thanks again
Don't want to push my luck but perhaps you can tell me why my thank you button doesn't work????? It looks like it is going to work and then just throws me out and I get that box that says if I want to join in I must register...
I just get so fed up of logging in and out and in and out and still my thanks does not register.
But I really really do THANK YOU.:D0
