in Credit cards
Has anyone known this before
I withdrew moneyback to my Barclaycard, which meant i was in Credit, above my actual Credit Limit.
They put a £12charge on, i could understand if i had spent more than my Limit, but its the opposite.
Has anyone experienced this before?
I remember doing this few years ago, to provide a safety net, for my trip to Australia

Did you mean that you take cash from your credit card? If that was the case, it is treated as cash advance as I know.0
-
no no, i didnt take cash,
I had money returned to my barclaycard.
I sent too much from my Bank, to my Card, to cover the transactions id placed, this took me over my credit limit. so I was in Credit. no debt. and i got charged for being in credit0 -
Not a charge ive heard of, seeing your statement would help, have you tried customer service?0
-
from my statement
please be aware there is a credit balance on your account of £240, thereyou dont need to make a payment this month
Please be aware you incurred an over credit limit charge this month as you exceeded your credit limit
So im £240 in credit,
and charged me £12 - over credit limit charge0 -
i may use this as ammunition for a better deal, once my 2% cashback deal ends ;-)0

It looks like all your monthly transactions added up to taking you over your credit limit on the card before your payments/transfers hit the card ? Is this the case ? I know Barclays allocate payments to transactions on the card on the statement date and not when the payment arrives.0

I agree with methusala.
Leeegglestone, do check your statements and transactions to make sure you did not indeed go over the limit with your spending, before you paid it off. If you were even 1p over your credit limit, this would count as being overlimit and you would get the overlimit fee.0 -
Why not post your transactions on the statement here? Blank the sensitive information, then we know what you are talking about?0

i dont think you guys are grasping. i have not gone over my spending limit.
This Card limit is £1500, but because i sent more than my required payment,
technically my credit limit is £1740.
My Card statement is in Credit, at no point has the card gone into debt.
thats why they said i did not need to send a payment for my nxt statement
Statement says
Previous Balance - £697
Payments recieved - £3900
New Transactions £29610 -
Previous statement £697
