First Utility - No charge for Gas

Can anyone help or suggest what I should do?!?

In December I bought a new house, and First Utility are providing my gas and electricity. In Jan/Feb/March, all the bills came and everything was fine, however the last three months I have paid my gas standing charges and all the electricity usage and standing charges, however they are not billing for actual gas used.

I have called three times to advise them of this and they say they have sorted it. But I am fed up of calling them when its not my problem. Shall i try once more or just leave them to it?

Thanks
Craig

Don't switch supplier because of this. I wish my gas supplier didn't charge me!

Keep an eye on the usage and calculate what you owe - put the amount in a high interest bank account and wait until they decide to bill you. If they leave it too long, you might end up getting at least some of it for free!

Thanks for that, I;ve been keeping the money back and know the reading on the last bill I had for gas, so will leave it as it is ;)

If they are raising bills, for the standing charges, the '12 month back-billing' rule will not apply.

However I agree it isn't a problem if you are aware that you will probably get a big bill in the future - just treat it as an interest free loan.

If the OP really wants the situation resolved, a letter rather than a phone call would sort it out.
