Cheapest month to insure car?

Does anyone know when the cheapest time of year to insure your car is?
I ask this because I took out a multicar quote at start of May for £1100 and now want to change the vehicles on the policy.
Before ringing up I thought I'd just get a quote online, first for the original cars then another quote for the new ones, to see what difference it would make.
The quote I got for the original cars was £300 cheaper than what I paid a couple of months ago!
Both were quotes for new customer.
Have heard in the past that prices in the financial world can change depending on the time of the year, was just wondering if anyone knows when are the cheapest times of year?
