Free Usb Memory Stick Worth £9.99

In The Sun today free USB memory stick to celebrate Angelina Jolie's new film WANTED. The sticks are loaded with promo stuff about the film. Need to send in printed voucher but down side is you need to include £2.49 postage.

Im useless with computers so do not know if promo stuff can be wiped and the stick reused??? Perhaps somebody could let me know?

Anyway the paper is 55p today so may be worth doing if you need a memory stick and it can be reused.

Hope this helps somebody

Thanks heskpesk. Does it say how big the memory is on the stick?

    No im afraid not.

Just as an extra bit of info. you can send a sae with £1.99 postage on instead of sending £2.49 if you wish.

Geordie Lass is it possible to wipe off promo stuff?

i have not seen the stick but i would have thought that you can format the stick and then use it for something else,
  • I should imagine it would be possible, but don't quote me on that! You may be better off getting a memory stick from play.com http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3317353/PNY-1GB-USB-2-0-Flash-Drive/Product.html
as it costs £5 and is probably more memory than the Sun stick. Just a thought.
£800 reclaimed from Barclaycard (Full amount + interest)
£40 on Comply or Die :cheesy: + £25 Quidco CashBack (paid so far!)

It's also here if you want to do it via the internet. I am pretty sure you would be able to wipe all the promo stuff of.

You can remove promo material but it will probably involve a bit of hard work, it can't usually be removed with a simple format, see discussion here

I would think there is free space on the stick anyway if the promoters are charging money for it, rather than giving it away free though it could be as little as 256mb. There will probably be a tiny .exe file which will launch the promotional webpage each time it's put into the computer, which could get a bit annoying after a while, but I doubt if it will actually take up much space in the drives memory. Shame it doesn't say how big the memory is, though if it was a gig or more then I would have thought they would be keen to point this out.

A small memory stick could be handy for the kids to take homework into school for example, though they might get into bother if it launches a webpage each time it's used :rotfl:
  • It is so easy to clear these things. Just plug it into usb, right click on each item on the stick, select delete and your done. If when you plug it in nothing happens, just go to 'My Computer' select the stick (will say removable storage device F or something similar) and it will open.
