I have found the best place to ask is in a branch. I was told I had already been accepted before I applied and they told me the limit too. SIgned the forms on the spot and got the cards in under a week. Even if you did apply on-line I am sure a branch would still have access to see what the decision / likely decision is.

    Hope this helps.

Be careful though. If it's the Advance card they have a habit of increasing your interest rate a few months down the line even though they advertise it as 11.9% on their website. This is what happened to me despite having a perfect payment record with them for many years.

Also, with the Advance card you are charged interest from day one of any transaction, so no 56 days interest free period

I only discovered this very recently, having made my first ever purchase on it (only ever used the card for BT's previously) and noticed the balance steadily increasing over the course of a few days whilst doing online banking.

I called them to find out why and that's when I was told interest is charged from day one so when I said in that case I wanted to pay off the balance immediately the lovely CS guy refunded the interest that had already accrued for me :T :D

I certainly won't be using it for purchases again! ;)
