Stolen goods !!!!!!!!----!!!!!!!! does your card cover!

Hello,

dont know if you read my other post, I did get the story a little wrong, to cut it short, my friend got s puncture and went for help, Plasma in the boot...... any way the terms of the card was that he would have got paid out if his car was bigger! it says in the policy that its ok in the boot, fully in the boot! well he had to drop his rear seats although he did cover it up.

they said that a 50" plasma would have not fitted in the boot of the Fiesta he has, this is true......so he lost the claim.

Are all cards like this........he was with Caho*t

In short, yes they are :(

All card companies or insurance companies will do whatever they can, find whatever loophole they can to prevent paying out.

It will be worth your friend contesting this, does it say anything about the how the goods must be stored in his T&C?

It's worth checking and in cases like this sometimes a little persistence pays off :)

yes it does say about the goods, have to be fully in the boot, under the original parcel shelf, it would not fit so he just put in in how he could.

I wonder if they all have the same wordings for in a car theft?
  • This is irrelevent now surely. You can't claim retrospectively for this tv with a new insurance company, unless your friend intends to buy another, have another puncture, leave the car with the Plasma in the boot for anyone to see, and yes of course his mobile phone will be dead!
As I said in my posting to previous posting this whole story stinks and if I worked for an Insurance company would be very very suspicious of the circumstances here.

I would like to know how anyone can fit a 50" Plasma TV in the back (even with the seats folded!) of a Fiesta??? I had a Fiesta years ago and I tell you it isn't possible! fact. I would have to see it with my own eyes before I believed it. Also, this is fact too...I fit a 28" (note: 28 inch!) Widescreen TV in the back of my car to take my new TV down to Scotland from Lancashire (bigger than a Fiesta) and it was a tight fit, even with the seats folded down. I am not surprised the insurance company declined this claim, I would agree with that decision.

Yes, but a regular widescreen TV (even a 28") is a lot bigger than a plasma screen TV, it has a lot more depth to it :)

I'm not saying that what you are saying is wrong, I'm just pointing that little bit out :)

Yeah, thanks Matt, my hubby just said that to me too, though we still think it's highly unlikely that a 50 inch plasma could fit in the back of a Fiesta. I bet a Plasma is nicer too than my Widescreen but I couldn't afford a Plasma so i'm making do :D
