The OP explained she has trouble with spelling. So why do you ignorant lot take great delight in taking the pee instead of applauding her for trying and admitting she has difficulty ?

I have every sympathy for the OP - I am dyslexic too, and avoid using some words because I know I can't spell them. Spell checkers don't always know what I mean, either!

But it also means I find writing by other dyslexic people even harder to read.

No one should laugh at others who have difficulty with spelling or grammar, there are very few of us who are perfect. I have every sympathy for the op.

But anewman you have made me laugh so much I nearly fell of my chair, after a stressful day at work you were just the ticket!!

strange how Inactive has now disappeared!

I agree I very rarely post on forums as in the past people have made me feel like a fool for asking a question that was to them stupid or obvious.

It is a bit annoying when people write on here in a way that is barely legible. Many people simply cannot be bothered to attempt to convey what they want to say in a manner that the majority of us can understand.

However, in the case of those who genuinely have difficulty with their writing skills, because they are perhaps dyslexic, then it is right and courteous to not to criticise. In the case of a dyslexic person, a spellchecker may not actually be of that much use since they are suffering from a form of word blindness.

We all make mistakes from time to time with our spelling and grammar. We all make typographical errors from time to time. In any case, the way words are supposed to be spelt is only the result of the opinion of somebody at some point in a past era.
