Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Combo Breaker Home Insurance Hacker!
And then they "forget" to cancel when you ask them 3 times and they claim that I never did - regardless of the confirmation from the person on the live help desk email, they also refused to credit it too.

Only 4 months to go before my broadband contract is up - then down to pay as you go dial up (to keep the email addy) and I'm off!

  • I am a linux user - so I would stay clear of any broadband provider who

1)makes you install dialer or other software
2)limits your usage either with time or amount downloaded
3)only offers you 512 or less

    I have 2MB broadband for £24.99 a month - unlimited.
    I recommend demon.net
I started with this company when I first got my 56k modem and I changed because the other company was cheaper (but they were useless).
Also STAY CLEAR of giointernet.co.uk - I signed up, they never connected me, then they cancelled me (eventually - their phone lines are always busy - they somehow called me back when I wasnt here) and then they send me a debt collection notice! Needless to say, I was very annoyed - I was unable to contact them at all. Luckily the debt collection agency cancelled their contract, presumably because either gio didnt pay them, or they had 100s of complaints about the unnecessary charges.

If you ae on aol broadband and you are downgrading it could end up costing you a fortune as they will charge you full telephone costs for usage

  • Have a look at the T&C there is something that says that if you've been on broadband you cannot downgrade back to dial up they reserve the right to charge you broadband rates. Also if you access aol from a dial up modem and are registered on broadband it will cost you 4p a min on the phone line.

Even cheaper now £19.99 a month, full fat 2mb bb, free connection and modem.

Recently signed up no problems so far...few people are whinging about Demon at the moment.

Worth checking out ASDL GUIDE for comparisions between ISPs.

Try misco Macafee Av V8.0+128mb usb stick £11 Or on its own £2.34 (you may need to buy a cheap mouse or something) macafee
