Norton internet security £30

Hi i have just bought Norton internet security for £30 when it should Be £40.
on pc worlds web site they have made a mistake on line and mixed up NIS with norton antivirus's price.
I reserved it on line to pick up in store and printed off the check out bit with the product and price of £29.99 showing and written down the res. code and just picked it up of the shelf and took it to the till and handed them the print out with the resverasion code on.

i bought avg for 27 off amazon, saw add open account get £3 credit, was £30. Then rang paid seven quid to put another comp on. 1 year lisc. Think should gone on ebay for 2yr lisc and 2 comps for £50. Norton cheap on there too

this is a great price.. if you want a piece of software which will literally make you want to rip your hair out in great big chunks as you get a million billion pop-ups and scans... Norton makes me want to throw my laptops out of the window... don't do it! get one of the freebies. Kerio PFW and AVG are good and free alternatives.

I have got AVG on the pc to compare with Norton on the laptop. Always had norton and never had any problems with it.
Not to sure about AVG yet dont like it.
Each to their own but still saved £10 through their mistake.

I use Kaspersky ,it always comes above Norton in reviews, and doesnt slow my PC down to the days of a 486DX66.Scan do a 3 PC OEM disc for around £13 + delivery ( but thats free to some people)

I'm not an expert on the subject of what's good and bad on internet security software so am only relaying my own experience between Norton and McAfee. I bought a Toshiba laptop 6 weeks ago which came with Norton free for 3 months, so far (touch wood)... Norton has not caused any problems unlike McAfee which is installed in my 5 year old Dell also in 3 year old Dell Laptop which I gave to a mate, McAfee updates every time the PC is switched on, slows it down, puts mail in the bin from people who are marked as "friends". As Norton seems to run quite peacefully in the background of the new laptop I was considering the removal of McAfee from my old Dell PC and subscribing to Norton when it runs out in 6 weeks. I buy a lot of stuff on line, everything from house insurance to holidays etc and feel that I have to use one of the big names like McAfee to protect my on line transactions and details. This is only my own unqualified experience, I'm in no way a Techie and need all the help can get when it comes to computers, in my case more peace of mind than technical expertise.

Norton is a joke..as is McAfee, AVG Free or Avast are both better and free.;)

Ive heard newer versions of Norton is better, personally I still would'nt buy it but if your happy with it then fine, keep with it.

I myself use Free AVG, Commodo Firewall (was Sygate). I used to use AVG AntiSpyware when it was free but now just use other freebie software readily available on the net. Total cost for me is zero. Thats how I like it

Definitely true. Dont waste money on norton, i actually have uninstalled norton in favour of AVG. Save your cash! Most reviews in mags (PcPro PcZone etc always show norton doing suprisingly badly. I know for a fact AntiVir actually found almost a THIRD more viruses than norton in a test suite. And AntiVir is free!)
