Natwest Credit Cards & Direct debit payment

Hi, just a quick question. I have a Natwest credit card set up for minimum payments by Direct Debit. Is it correct that if I were to make additional payments to my credit card, my Direct Debit will still be taken out as usual?

For example, outstanding balance - £10.24. Direct debit payment - £5.

Assuming that my manual payment of £5.24 will not reduce the direct debit payment, I will have settled the full amount for the month, am I right?

Thanks!

With NatWest, yes. No account is taken of any manual payment made. The amount specified on your statement (in this case £5) is automatically collected by DD unless NatWest is instructed otherwise.

Note: this does not apply to all credit cards. The effect of a manual payment, when a direct debit is active on your account, varies between lenders.
