Jealous cat

I am looking for some advice please.
we have two cats - Tigger my OH's male neutered moggy who is 9yrs old, quite shy and quiet, Sammy a female neutered rescue tortie who is about 18months ( we have had her 1 year). She is a typical naughty tortie will lick and scratch you at the same time and everything is on her terms lol.
They have usually got on OK, have a few scuffles now and again. It has got worse the last month, she has got very jealous and demands attention the whole time she is not sleeping. If you are reading she comes and rubs her face against the book and tries to knock it out of your hand. She is always chasing him, if you are petting him she comes up to get the attention instead. She sits next to him when he is eating waiting for scraps, having bolted her food down in 2 seconds. Sometimes she eats his biscuits whilst he is still eating his tuna. It's turning him into a nervous wreck.

I have 4 cats and 2 of them can be bullies! I leave bowls of dried food out all the time, to minimise tension at feeding times. They tend to get a bit silly and overeat for the first few days, but then settle down and eat when they like.

There is a seems to be a definite social pecking order, but it actually changes from day to day. Tig may turn round one day and give her a proper clout which will stop her in her tracks! But some cats never do - I have one that always plays the victim because it guarantees attention.

My one cat that gets fed wet food as well, has that separately or they will all try and steal it! He only has it to keep his weight up - he hasn't much appetite for dry food.

Little spats that break out are usually solved with a sharp clap off hands and a "NO!". I'll physically remove the bullying cat if they don't stop.

Attention-seeking is fine, they want it - they get it. I just make sure my quieter cats get some when the others aren't around. They do all seem to have there own bit of territory where they feel secure - one likes the top of kitchen units, another favours a particular bedroom. They will retreat there during the day for uninterrupted snoozes and they are separated at night to avoid scraps.

WE have changed their eating regime since about Easter as they were both getting very fat:o
They now get fed every day at 6am and 6pm. They were getting fed little and often sporadically throughout the day, but Sammy is especially greedy and will just eat all day if you let her. So I am loathe to keep biscuits out all the time although I can see it may work based on your comments.

I appreciate your comments as it sounds a more common scenario than I first thought! The pecking order does change over sometimes as some days Tigger will spend all day flicking Sammy everytime she walks past:rotfl:
I think maybe I should just let them get on with it
