Help!! Car Rental Question!!!

Options
I have rented a car through Toyota. I've had the car for a couple of weeks and the other day I noticed a pretty big crack had developed in the windshield. Do I just return the car and explain what happened (I don't know how the crack got there, I'm guessing a truck flipped up a pebble or something) to the rental agency, or, should I simply have the windshield glass replaced and return the car without saying anything?

They'll notice it in the dehire inspection anyway so it's up to you. Personally, I'd not replace it until you've seen what they say.

They will probably make you pay but it might be worth getting a couple of quotes so you know where you stand. They will probably quote you a very expensive price.
