Help on Burning CD

Hi everyone

Just needed some help/advice on which CDs I can use to burn songs.

I am burning them from iTunes - I have a DVD-RW.
Is this ok to burn songs on or do I need to buy different discs?

Also, is there something to do with the format of the songs? they are currently in Mpeg format but I have an option to convert them to AAC format.
Will this make any difference?

What are you hoping to play the CDs on?

You don't say what you want to do with the CDs once you've created them!

If you are just creating them as backups then DVD-RW's should be fine, but if you want to play the resulting discs on an ordinary CD player, they won't be readable. For that your best bet would be CD-R's (CD-RW's may also work, but are typically less reflective and so may not).

As for the file format, you would need to check the spec of the CD player. Older ones won't play anything other than a conventional CD. More recent ones will often play MP3 files. Few seem to be capable of playing AAC format.
