Mono radio; stereo headphones

I want to listen so a olde and cheap radio using a pair of cheap headphones/earphones (to be bought), but note the injunction on the Argos website:
"STEREO HEADPHONE/EARPHONES.
Please note, if used in conjunction with a monaural sound source, such as a pocket radio or TV, sound will be reproduced through one earpiece only."Is there any answer to this problem? I simply want the mono sound to appear in each earpiece. For example, is there such a thing as mono headphones/earphones?

It's always wonderful when someone comes up with the complete and incontrovertible answer to a problem - thanks very much!0
