56 Nappies for a fiver

I've read this thread with interest and as I'm expecting my first baby soon I thought it might be a good idea to stock up with some nappies with my Tesco clubcard vouchers.
I was just wondering what nappies I look for in Tescos, are their own brand nappies labeled as value?? or just Tesco nappies?
Thanks in advance :-)0 -
How about washable trainer pants? They will work out so much cheaper than single use disposable trainers especially when you consider that sometimes they are on for only a matter of minutes.0

When I was pregnant I received lots of money off or reward point vouchers for Huggies and Pampers and also looked out for special offers on them so laid in a big supply, intending to use them initially and for going out. When baby arrived I found that reusables seemed to need to be changed constantly, clothes wouldn't fit over them and after washing they took days to dry (my baby was born in December) also that I was really too busy and tired to want any more washing.
If you still fancy trying washables you could try a PUL pocket nappy with a microfibre insert. This type of reusable nappy is really easy to use (only one piece to put on/take off), drys quickly, very slimline, very absorbent and you can even get them in one-size variety to be even more cost effective.0 -

They're just labelled as Tesco own brand, not value.
One other thing - be careful about stockpiling too many of the small sizes, especially newborn. If the baby is much bigger than the average, you may even bypass newborn size altogether. Can you guess who may have already been caught out with this?!0 -
Hello,
I have found from my experience that Lidl nappies are superb, they are equal and surpass all of the own supermarket brands. I have tried, Sainsbury, Asda, Tesco and Morrisons own. Aldi would also be an excellent nappy if it had the stretchy sides... so why ever spend more?
Pampers are awful (I won't even use the free ones from bounty packs!), Huggies are great.
We have used whenever the opportunity to buy them is there (not many places stock these (Sainsbury's and Boots do) Nature Baby nappies, they are fab at doing their job but actually are biodegradable too.0 -
I use a combination of disposables and reusable nappies- the reusable ones are for at home, and i take disposables with me when i go out with ds.
i bought 5 packs of nappies from sainsburys (2 huggies, 2 pampers, 1 sainsburys own) for £14 as the packs were damaged! I bought them in april and still have 2 1/2 packs left!!!
have to say, the sainsburys ones are pretty good for my ds- the fit is good and they absorb pretty well. am not terribly impressed with the pampers- they seem to leak quite a bit, but the huggies ones are fine.
havent tried the lidl ones- when i finally run out of what i've got i will get a pack to give them a go2011- new year, new start.
January 2011 g/c- £150

I love the Lidl nappies. I have used them alongside washables for all three of my children. Aldi and tesco own are great too, however I always think Lidl are better than both of them.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030

I have always used pampers or huggies and when i had my 3rd child a few months ago went on an economy drive. I bought morrisons own (little wrigglers) and cannot fault them to the point where i now stop people who are buying the top brand nappies and tell them how pleased i am with the cheaper brand. CANNOT RECOMMEND THESE ENOUGH.

I too have always used pampers on both my children but recently thought I would try the aldi ones and have got to say they are fab. Great price seem nice and comfy and no leaks during the night. I have now switched to Aldi nappies and saving myself £4 each time I purchase them0

Just to add my bit, started off with pampers, found a few leaked, but other than that no complaints for my little one, then after reading about the Lidl ones on this site I tried those and they are just as good as pampers and have not had one leak! My sister has tried huggies, tesco, sainsburys and morrisons own and didnt recommend so i didnt bother. Im sticking with Lidl and saving, saving, saving!!:D0
