Of course we are not alleging that.
I have also just found that "citibase serviced offices" operate out of there-that is probably where they are based.0 -
I work very very close by, I could try & have a peek to see what the building/offices are?nothing to see here, move along...0

There's over 150 companies registered there, so it will be the building that dwarfs all others around it!
McKeown Harkinson Solicitors seem to be a reputable business, established on 06/11/2006, so I doubt whether they are in any way involved.0 -
It looks like Martinos Management Ltd was probably formed as an off-the-shelf company in April, and Mark Snape, a 29-year-old from Denton, Manchester may have bought it. He's the director but interestingly there's no registered company secretary. I thought that was a legal requirement for a Ltd company?
So Martinos were supposedly entering into contractual agreements with businesses before the company had even been incorporated? - ha!0 -
I would be surprised if they even have an office at the serviced offices, its probably just a maildrop address.Citibase offer virtual offices.0

Just ignore it. My mum had a similar experience with a company called Vericom, who called up her business to say that she'd agreed to be in a business directory and pay them (I think) about £200. They did the same thing with a 'recorded' conversation, which was basically a female voice that was alleged to be my mum simply saying 'yes' to the Vericom rep asking questions like 'Will you pay to be in this business directory' and 'do you agree to pay £200 to appear in the directory' and so on. They got really nasty and aggressive when my mum refused to pay up - she never agrees to this kind of thing and the 'directory' they sent was totally wrong, with the wrong name, mis-spelled address and the wrong phone number - and this went on for over a year, with the amount increasing and them threatening to send debt collectors (who never turned up ...) We called trading standards and they said they'd had a lot of complaints about this company, and under no circumstances should we pay. We just ignored it, fielded the phone calls and eventually they stopped, although they could be really nasty.
Apparently this scam has been running for years under the name of Infotel too. Wouldn't surprise me at all if this was a new incarnation.0 -
Thanks for the info. I found some interesting bit on the Internet about Infotel/Vericom. It seems to be a Canadian company though so I don't think it's related to Martinos, although it's definitely the same kind of scam.0

Wow, I had identical situation! Only they threatened me afterwards with invoice for £100 as cancellation fee. The man on the other side was quite nasty and also claimed I agreed to it or someone in my company did and when I refused to talk more, they called back! I was the only one working in the company and there was no way I ordered books for school and forgetting about it.

Did they say their name was Martinos? What was the final position at the end of the conversation? Did they say that they'd be sending an invoice and a fake recording of your agreement?0 -

They said they were Martinos and that they will send me cancellation fee invoice. I told them Good Luck as I never ordered anything and would love to see their proof. They just slammed the phone down after repeating to expect the invoice in the post.
