Car insurance

I am about to buy a car (we have one car, in my husbands name, which I do drive ) as I have been promoted at work and am having to move locations to a different work base.

I havent had my own car insurance for about 2 1/2 years as we didnt need two cars.
What do I do about no claims discount? Do I have to go back to zero? (I had approx 12 years accident free insurance prior to getting rid of my last car).

Any advice would be really gratefully received.

I think that companies usually only accept NCBs within the last two years.

They often bend in all sorts of ways to get business though, maybe they would let you use some of your years. No harm in trying.

A couple that I know, that have just one car, insure the car one year in his name, one year in hers, etc, to keep up both of the no claims.

I hope you don't have to go back to zero.
