Memory card for digital camera

Hi, I hope someone can help:
I've just received a sony cybershot digital camera from a competition I've won, but as it hasn't come with a memory card (the internal memory is a measly 24mb) I'm going to need to buy one, only I have no clue as to what it should cost/where to get from. It says it needs a memory stick pro duo (which I presume is different from a normal SD card, as the SD card from another camera didn't fit), so if anyone could tell me how much I should be paying for a 1gb or 2gb one or what to look out for etc, I'd be really grateful.
