Do i change supplier or not!?! HELP NEEDED!!!

I am currently with BG for both Gas/Elec. I pay approx £42 per month for Elec, and £16 per month for Gas. I live in a threebedroom flat, but there are only two of us there.

My query is that, even though i pay the above prices per month for my services i almost always get money back from them at the end of the year. The last payback for elec was £267....which is a lot, so goes to show that they are massively overcharging then having to pay it back to me. Therefore is there anything i can do get the costs down now? and is it worth me changing a supplier the figure i outinto the search are not actually correct and i am overpaying...? i got quotes saying i could save upto 30% and so was going to switch when i realised the tariffs were vastly different and i may not use as much eneergy as i first thought.... Also i am on BG Price Protect until apr 09, should i wati until then to change my supplier???

Any help would be much appreciated.
