guttering upvc or aluminium?

I have breing quoted for my bunglaow for upvc guttering -sofits and also another company whoim use on only aluminium guttering-down pipes, the upvc guy is £60 more.
What is best option is alu ok?

We had all our facias soffits and bargeboards REPLACED with uPVC (not nailed on over the wood) but with aluminium guttering. Looks great and there'll never be any drips from joints.0

Out of interest, what do the various bits do on a roof?
Mine's an old place and is just slate tiles. No wood/plastic bits at all showing. Is that a problem?0
