Failure to put me on Price Protection in July 2006

On contacting British Gas a while ago i was informed that i was not on the Price Protection Plan that i was supposed to be on from July 2006 - i have recently found the letter from them congratulating me on changing over to Price Protection which would have meant i was paying 6.5% above the rate in March 2006 as opposed to the additional 29% i am actually paying due to price increases. Can i get them to reimburse me for the amount i would've saved had they actioned this in the first place...? TIA
This is not the beginning of the end;
This is the end of the beginning......

if you have proof then kick up a fuss and ask them to rebill your account ok this tariff. They should be able to view the same letter you can on their system.0

Summer 2006 was when they were changing to their new computer system - which was a disaster to begin with - so that is probably why they failed to get you onto the correct tariff.
Write to them(don't phone) with a copy of your letter(not the original) and demand that you are put on the price protection with your account(s) recalculated to the start period.
I wouldn't think you will have a problem; if you do write to Energywatch.0
