Speeding Ticket waived
I don't know why I'm posting this really, but I was so surprised, I thought I ought to give South Yorkshire Police some credit.
I got a notification for my first ever speeding ticket recently, 34 in a 30
:-(
I'll admit I did think about trying to wriggle out of it, but I am pretty sure that I probably was driving, and I probably was speeding, so I just decided it was a fair cop and sent the form back admitting it.
Got another letter through this week, and I was expecting it to be the invoice for the £60 fine and info on sending my licence in for the points.
Instead it was a letter saying they weren't going to prosecute me this time, but that it would be kept on file and could be brought up in future if there were more offences. It basically said they weren't out to make money, they just want people to slow down, and they hoped I'd learned my lesson.
My jaw fair hit the table when I read it. So fair play to them for it, and yes I will make more effort to slow down for cameras in future.

When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.
