I'd love to cut down my petrol. I am going to suggest this to my hubby (who is the one in debt). He's worse than me, he'll drive to the shops/his parents both of which are a 5 minute walk away.

I'm quite good and always walk these short distances, and I always walk into town at lunch (unlike some of my lazy colleagues who drive and pay 50p parking).

I currently live 12 miles from work, so not really feasible to cycle. But fingers crossed we are moving house soon and I will be about 6 miles from work, maybe less in cycling distance. If we move I'd like to attempt to cycle one day a week to work. I think it will take about 40 minutes and with time I should get faster/fitter.

Also if we move I'll be round the corner from someone who works in the same building. I'd love to car share, but I don't see how this can be feasible with flexi time and the possibilities of each of us needing to stay on late. Does anyone who car shares have this problem?

I've started walking to work at least twice a week (out of 4 days) - started doing it to help weight loss - but now definitely trying to keep it up because of price of petrol. some weeks I manage all four days, sometimes only two, varies a bit as two days are longer shifts than the others.

The walk used to take me 25mins each way but is now down to 20 minutes, as I am nowgetting fitter/thinner (well a bit anyway!!:rotfl: )

I've also started logging how much petrol I put in and what mileage I'm getting for it. (and how much it is per litre, cos I'm sure I'll look back in a couple of years and be saying, blimey was petrol ONLY £1.20 a litre back then:rolleyes: )
