Newbie Please Help!!! Tickets received for unpaid holiday?

Hi Everyone, I need a lil help if possible?
I booked a hol to Spain in Jan ready for 21st June this year. I paid a £3 deposit £1 each for me, my partner & my 8yr old son. They advised me I had to pay the balance 10 weeks before departure or no tickets would be issued.
In the meantime my partner broke his leg and needed two operations so he cannot fly at all. I completely forgot to cancel and today received all my tickets and confirmation through the post.
I have read on another thread that this happened to a lady going to Florida but can't find the outcome?
Basically should I go, Can I go and by receiving documents does this mean it's been paid for by the travel agent?
I booked through a reputable agent but flying with a well known operator.
Should I ring the operator and hotel to check it's been booked?
Wrong as it sounds if there is a loophole then it's ce la vie to my partner and me and my son are off!!!!!
Thanks in advance for any help on my first post

Only go if you can afford to pay the lot in full. That's includes your partners lot as well, which he won't be able to utilise. He won't get a refund from travel insurance either.
So, you'll end up paying for a holiday for all 3 of you, and only 2 will go. You will get found out. You will be pursued for the money.0 -
You forgot to cancel. Do you have travel insurance to cover your partner's accident?0

I genuinley did forget to cancel, only because I wasn't worried about losing £3 and I was constantly back and fore the hospital for weeks. I work for an insurance company so i was going to wait until about a fortnight before to get the insurance. He's claiming elsewhere for injuries.0

If you didn't cancel then you are still liable for the cost of the holiday !travelover0

That is my fear here as well. I recently couldn't go on a holiday due to a sudden illness in an immediate family member, I had to pay all the outstanding balance even though I knew I wasn't covered on insurance.
By paying my deposit, even a low cost one, I had contracted to pay for the rest of the holiday at the time the balance was requested.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
