Vanquis Card Odd Phonecall ?

Hi, I applied for the Vanquis card on 6th June, Today I received a call on my Landline number which was automated and said it was a call from Vanquis bank and they would call again in the future !, it was a free phone number and when I called it back the message was repeated, I called them on their customer services number and at the same time I received the same automated call on my Mobile !, they say it is standard procedure and they will call back, yet I never missed the call ???, in addition they say my application is still being reviewed !.

Any ideas ?.

  • They probably want to confirm the application and check it was made by you.

Well done mate, it looks like they have approved you, this is what happend to me and when they eventual cought up with me they said I had been accepted, it is an auto dialer that rings around all approved applicants.

Yes, I am 99.9% sure that you been approved but don't take my word for it, just wait and see, hope you do get the card, why don't you check out the thread "Sub Prime Credit Card", there is lots of useful stuff on there.

My hubbuy got one of these, they phoned his mobile and he was at the GP's so couldn't talk to her. It was about insurance on the card.
Anyway, he got his card today and as I put in earlier post, for APR purposes he's in tier A.
you can check this when you receive your card.

    Hi,
Just to say that I got the phone call today and I got accepted !, got a £250 limit, which is low but its a start, I only plan on paying it all off anyway, got offered a 79p insurance option but I don't know about that, also told I would get the card in about 14 days, is that about right ?.

Also does anyone know if the cards are issued by Vanquis or by a bank (Like Barclays) on behalf of Vanquis.

    Thanks.

dont bother with the insurance option, they wont mind you not having it, and as its only £250, theres really no point, it took the best part of a week to 10 days for me to get the card and pin number from them.
