Have just been down to my local Currys. The blue and green boxes do exist. In their minds there are two distinct products - the annual plan at an inclusive £79.99, and a monthly plan at £19.99 plus a monthly subscription of £6.99. They weren't aware of any other up & coming promotions.
The web offer might be a mistake - but I'm going to give it a shot & order one today.0 -
Does this offer of free calls only apply if the person you're ringing is also on the same plan?
I found this on the page.
If you, your family and friends are all Freetalk users, then you will never pay for a call again, no matter where they are in the world as it uses the Internet to make the call.
· If you have Broadband, you pay a monthly fee to get your telephone line activated. After that, you don’t have to pay for how long you’re on the Internet or for any websites you visit.
· Freetalk uses Broadband to make and receive calls, just like you accessing websites with your PC.
· Freetalk sends the call to the other Freetalk box over the Internet, which costs you nothing!0 -

Product code 791701, Freetalk Monthly, is now appearing on the Dixons website, but the Freetalk One-Year is still appearing on searches for “Freetalk”. That must make product codes 559198 and 975698 both the same Freetalk One-Year, with product code 559198 being offered at £19.99 and a little note in the title to the staff that they should indeed be selling the one-year package on that code.ultrak3wl wrote:I'm using a similar service over NTL 2MB broadband and it works great, would struggle over a dialup though.BritBrat wrote:How does that tie in with a current broadband connection using a router?- You plug the VoIP adapter directly into the modem, and use the NAT router within the adapter. If the VoIP adapter doesn’t have enough ports, you can always plug the router into the adapter.
- You plug the VoIP adapter into your current router. If your current router supports Universal Plug and Play, the adapter should be able to get your current router to forward the ports it needs automatically.

Before you buy this product read this thread here

also the picture shows the year adapter where as on the currys site the picture is different and when added to basket it states

I am going to have a go at this but will be printing off the pages.0 -

on the whole if this costs only 19.99 for the whole year for Unlimited FREE local and national calls (over broad band, )surley this is a great bargain.
i think this is a pricing error.
Not such a great deal 1899.com offer free uk call from a PC to any uk landline nationwide. They also offer the same for calls to germany and holland: Free.
If you use their service via a normal phone there is a 3p connection fee, but the call is free after the connection.Seth.0
